The next step?

The only drops I've really done have been the ones on Ned's. Not that big I know, but it seems that the only progression I can make from there is pile driver. Technically, the skill is the same, but I'm not ready psychologically.

What's the next step then? Any suggestions?

oddly enough you can get the same height out of the new GLC drop that you can off of Piledriver. it's all in the mind. drop the rock face on A-line and that's close to 9 feet as well. piledriver is more about the breaking than the dropping. Bottom of Firehose on Cypress has a nice little 8 footer as well.

When I was at Whistler I eyed the a-line drop, but chickened after a buddy nearly died doing it, so I opted for the roll-down.

The new GLC drop wasn't open yet either, or I for sure would have tried that...it looked super smooth and totally doable for me.

Piledriver's a sinch there mini-fergs. just ask big-fergs how i made it look easy on the hardtail...mind you i was running the monster, but if i remember correctly your running a 7 inch fork too so you'll be fine. the hardest part about piledriver is the ramp up onto it. also if you decide to hit it, go SLOW, really SLOW. i thought i was going slow as i went off it, but boy oh boy was i ever wrong! i landed really far down and it kinda hurt.
