What would have topped it off is if they doused the rash in alcohol after the scrubbing.

damn andrew

i clean my own wounds instead of going to hospitals. nurses are part time butchers i swear. i always end up hurting more when i come out then when i go in always =/

this is of course for minor stuff..i have to go in for stitches and the like ;)

The stuff they probably put on your wound to clean it is called betadine. I know that shit stings but come on man, that is barely picture worthy. I wanted to see some blood and carnage and shit like that, f**ked up bones and ankles turned the wrong way.

I fell on my head in Kamloops 2-years ago and suffered a grade 3 AC seperation (clavicle fully torn free of my scapula). I was alone, rode 3 miles downhill to the car, gobbled about 6 advil and drove all the way back to portland, OR by myself with an icepack on my shoulder (11 hours). THe border guard asked if I had anything to declare, I lifted the ice pack and showed her my shoulder and she said "jesus christ, go home and get that looked at" and waived me through.

Sometimes we use diluted hydrogen peroxide to clean wounds as well. The bubbling helps with debridement. Fun huh?

savalon antibacterial soap should be used to clean around the wounds and sailne solution should be used to clean the wounds.hydrogen peroxide destroys skin tissue and is rarely used anymore....but if thats all you have and yer in the bush then i would use it. if ya need to cover those up use a non stick telfa pads that you can pick up at your local pharmacy.been there .....done that

well i can ask to get the x-rays for you. you can see my hip the contusions on it are huge. looks like part of a ballon coming off of it. same with my shoulder. looks like i am on roids but they only worked for part of my body. kinda gross looking. if i can take them home and scan them i will.

I think Arnold does though.

I can understand about the shoulder injury and stuff though, that sucks.

Sounds pleasant :(

I was in a motorcycle accident years ago and got all cut up - the nurse put this clear gel in all the cuts and holes (there were a few) then went to town with a hard plastic scrub brush to get out all the rocks and dirt etc - that stuff is the best cause I didn't feel anything - instantly numbs whatever it contacts. I'm suprised they don't have that in bulk @ Whistler, whatever it's called.
