wow man ,
did Neds for the first time.....last sunday..
makes anything ive ridden on Burke or sfu or woodlot look easy...
what a blast .....i was almost able to ride it the whole way ... but i took it easy cause it was my first time...

did another trail yesterday on Grouse called crinkle crackle?
another great trail...
i now know what all the hype about the north shore is...
i always figured why go way into n.s. for a ride when you can just go to burke or somewhere closer.... i never imagined the difference...
i still like the others but im definetely a n.s. fan now.... i finished a 3 hr ride and can't wait to get back...
i'll have to talk nicely to my wife .. ha
anyone else have this experience..?

Hehe. Welcome to the epoc of mountain biking. I can remember my first time on the shore (many many years ago). I had been riding the Delta Watershed for three years - had read about the shore, and seen the first NS movie so I had to go.
I walked down most of the Mushroom - saying to my friend 'people can't ride this!' hehe. Now it is a 15 second blurp of trail that doesn't even get me warmed up.
Have fun, help maintain these gems!

Neds was my first real shore ride about 2 years ago...from that point on I was addicted. I ride the NS alot, but I still go to Sumas, Ledgeview, the Shed etc...variety keeps things interesting.

neds is ridden to much, it is so rutted out now...

i use to hit it in 10 minutes...

now it takes 14 ...

it needs a trail day / days badly...

it is still fun though

this might seem kinda weird, but i like Neds in its current eroded state...

but then again i like super rocky DH style riding....it requires such alot of conecentration, but the rewards for railin a clean line down Neds feel so good afterwards...

Crash,

Krinkum Krankum and Ned's are often called "cross country" trails.

Other trails on Fromme are supposed to be much harder.

Always wear as much padding as possible on those trails as they are very rocky and any spill can be quite painful.

hey thanks for the advice switch....i really have come to appreciate armour.. i rode without for a year...and did two endos....amazingly the last one i did i landed on a rock...with my face....had a massisve bump on my cheek and a couple scratches...oh yeah and a black eye...
i came home that day .. said hi to my wife.. grabbed some ice and 4 tylenol and went to bed ...woke 3 hours later had dinner watched t.v. and then went to work...next day....the swelling had gone down lots....but man that fricken hurt like a bitch.....!!!
i was definetely lucky i didn't break teeth or my cheeckbone or get a stick in my eye...was at least a year and a half ago and my cheeck has not felt the same since...but it left no marks or nothing..
whoah i just wrote a book ...
im outta here

Full face mask. If you don't have one, seriously thing about getting one. The protect your head much better than a XC helmet, and they also protect your face very well.

If you have one, good purchase.
