today at a ride with 11ppl,
NSMBfREERider(cameron McKinnon) broke both bones on the left arm:both Radius and Ulna along the middle area

surprisingly, he wasnt even doing drops, jumps or "hardcore" things:???:
It all happened when he was crossing the road then tried to bunnyhop onto a curve then his chain snapped, causing him to fall sideways then broke his arm horribly.
I think the forearm looked like this: /__(hand):hurt:and all these ambulances and firetrucks came.
I m sure there were more sick broken bone stories but this one was definately weirdest of all i have experienced.

BTW for you locals, this happened on Guildford road near Johnsons in Coquitlam.

post your broken bone stories.

cheers

PS: best wishes to cam.....

I fractured 3 bones in my ankle back in the day when Lafarge was the BMX jumps, (pre-bmx track) when I threw my bike. I rode home too. Thats about the worst I've done to my bones....actually it worked out for the best, It's hard to break my ankle and it's super flexible (the negitive being I fall over sometimes no for no reason.)

i dont like broken bone stories they freak me out and bring back bad memories....

if u ride a bike, having injury's should be illegal..

few things u can do to yourself hurt more then (broken) Bone pain...

oddly enuf you'd think a punctured lung would hurt... but its just REALLY hard to breath...

at Whistler 2 seasons ago i broke my right collarbone/2,3,4 ribs and punctured my lung, also fractured my Left wrist...over rotating off the DS course tabletops...

all in all that was a bad day...althou i did get a ambulance ride to VGH outa the deal...
shitty part was i got the ambulance bill 1 year later....

I've just broken a collarbone (in Kamloops) and my wrist in two places (Sun Peaks).

The bike patrol chick was very nice and very hot..... too bad she's married. :(

Kamloops has my number. I hope to redeem myself.

Morphine is good.

i havent broken bones but ive really fucked up the ligaments in my ankles. some say that is worse(doesnt heal like a broken bone would)

Ya i have never broken a bone either, i might have fracured my right Ulna when i rode with only rear 6" that wasnt even working and crashed to a big edged wood bar.

i was going about 50km/hr then i jumped out to the rear to survive the crash somehow but i didnt see the bar and blocked it with the arm and got bucked off, and rolled down a hill.

the bone feels bigger than the normal ones and it hurts when i press on it.

Also the weird thing about today's incident with cameron(NSMBfReeRider*the avatar with a hat that has a fan on it*) was that he just fell on it fairly lightly and both bones were broken horribly. maybe he doesnt drink alot of milk i guess. if he quis biking(i doubt it) i m gonna buy his rear wheel though he's a funny guy, i hope he doesnt quit and ride with us asap.

btw, how long does it take for both bones in an arm to heal? i think he broke it clean and he got the cast tonight, possibly with some additional bolts.

cheers

there aint much give in concrete...

Bones are easy to break when u hit the road...esp. if u are twisting them when they hit...

this is like the worst time to get injured, would proly take a few months to fully heal, by then it's the end of the season
hope he get well soon.

my friend broke his arm just yesterday riding with me...he hit my step down and just got fucked up in the air, fell onto his right wrist. The bone on the inside of the wrist was poking the skin up, it was so gross. He's out for 10 months :(
We were planning on hitting some stuff next weekend, but not anymore.

camerons broke his arms!? shitty deal! get better soon.

how many people punctured a lung in whistler last year? My friend told me that some guy somehow made his marzocchi single crown fork have 6" of travel and he put super-t springs in it and went off the a-line drop and it broke and punctured his lung. that wasnt by any chance you IFO was it?

I snapped my arm in half, with the bones sticking out and squirting blood everywhere - but I was doing a 360 airwalk on my skateboard and tapped the lip of the trannie. I had steel plates and screws holding my arm together for a year

1) Fractured Ulna in left arm not biking - Had a cast for 4 weeks because I was young
2) Fractured Ulna in right arm (biking) - Took a few weeks to heal; no cast
3) Fractured Radial Head in left arm (biking) - Cast for 2 days (hah); sling for a week; took a few more weeks to heal; still feels a bit funny at times due to muscle weakness, but nothing serious (it has been 2 months).

Both biking accidents were doing something outside of my abillty. I don't do things anymore unless I am comfortable with it. You have to follow your instinct.

start of mushroom trail on seymor. Went over the bars and I usally can roll it out. This time though landed in a pocket of rocks and came to a fast stop. I moved everything around to make sure I was all right. As soon as I moved my thumb it hurt like hell and I new it was broken. But like the pro I am I rode the rest of the trail. I know better now though.;)
