How much would one of those cost?
I read the review but maybe I missed the price in there somewhere.
Can you get just the guide part, or do you need the bashguards too?

Good review, but to sell a chainguide to me it has to be proven in competition. I've never dropped a chain riding the shore on even the worst chainguides, but as soon as you apply it to multiple speed runs, the chain gets dropped. Constant mashing of the pedals over rough terrain, all the while shifting under force, is the proving ground for chainguides.
Looks like a great guide nonetheless.

Good review! I absolutely love my Livid guide. Allan from Livid is awesome, and the product plain rocks. After falling off a log, bending the bottom roller arm up-between the inner ring and my frame, seeing it at a 45 degree angle, I was sure it was done for.
Not so! It popped right back out, and back into position. Not bent, and no damage to the frame.
Broken Fusion, I paid 288 for mine tax incl.

It's just so frustrating when you look at the cost of a chainguide. 200 bucks and up for anything decent. Makes me wanna buy a new bike with a decent chainguide already spec'd.

Exactly..the livid guides look wicked..
but i can't afford anywere in the near future to lay down 300 bucks for a guide..
I got my DMR Speedguide for 120 and it seems to do me fine.

I've had no problems with mine either, and it's been on my bike for 7 or 8 months now. It's soooooo quiet.

What is the point of this post? Are you just keen on wasting bandwidth. trying to be clever (didn't work) or making some kind of commentary about consumerism? If you are going to take the time to post something at least say something instead of wasting our time.
In case you still haven't figured out what I'm talking about, if you aren't going to buy it at least tell us why. Otherwise don't waste our bandwidth.

Great review Mark. I've had mine for about 8 months now too. It has never failed. It's still in perfect condition despite the countless times I've landed on it.

I dont know, i dont personally like the Carbon Fiber idea for the boomerang. I dont like the Alum that most companies *cough MRP* Cough*. Use either. I have not run this chain guide but I cant see how it could be any better than others out there. The failure of Chain guides from my experiance is flex of the boomerang more than anything else. Carbon fiber is strong, True. But its strength is in thickness. And its total thickness is not that great (from the photos I have seen). I dont think the boomerang is any better than other guides out there. Just more hype? Personally I would like to see a 1/8" thick Stainless guide boomerang.

Dude you have no idea. The carbon fibre is super strong. I smashed mine the other day with enough force to twist the lower boomerang up and smush the roller into the bottom of my chainstay. The boomerang showed no signs of damage at all. Thicker doesn't necessarily mean better. If the boomerang was metal it would have surely bent.
Hey Andrew, I don't think all rollers are the same. In fact I'll bet you the mrp rollers and the livid rollers are totally different (besides just their colour) :)
Anybody have opinions/photos of the GV-3B model? I've kinda got my eye on it. Also any word on Employee Purchases from this company?
