me no like rain rides, mostly cause it requires doing laundry and living in residence that works out to like 5 bucks... so no rain rides makes clothes last longer. Trails = fun when wet cause they challenging
I ride when I have time off. Regardless of weather - if I have to wait for a sunny day to go riding, it could be up to a month away.
Now whether I ride with friends in the rain or not is another thing..... they're big weenies.

living on van Isl you learn quick on riding in rain or you would have to sell your bike because it would be outdated the time it got sunny.;)

if it starts half way through i dont care but i wont start a ride in the rain
I don't have money for new cables every ride. So I usually stick to the unrainy days.

If im stoked ill ride in teh rain, I'll always remember my ride on march 12th, the wednesday of the hardest rain fall of march. Guess where i was? Up fromme...It was literallly a sheet of rain coming down faster than lighting, it was crazy. I was so wet. But I rode with head phones so it wasn't to bad, and they didn't skip on air supply :D Always bring music if ur gona ride in the rain, it makes it so much easier and more enjoyable because your mind isnt awlays on the rain. It is fun but make sure your dressed for it.

I pretty wishy-washy. I don't mind riding in the rain at all cuz I just throw on the ol' rubber suit...
however, if I'm hungover and I don't have any solid plans made, then it's pretty tough to get me up :P

Now we're talking. Living on the West Coast there is no way you can let the weather dictate your biking. Rain, snow, hail, whatever...just go riding!

Pouring no...it is more likely to damage the trail...but misting (like it does out here...I really haven't seen it pour much) yeah I will go out but will make sure the trails can take it.

i ride in the rain but maintenance/laundry after a ride in the rain is painstaking/time consuming task
and if i don't do it my bike falls apart in a heap of rust, and my clothes become a mold plantation. so i prefer not to go out in the rain with my current bike. but i'll ride anytime if there's someone else who's up for it
hopefully i can get a cheap bike soon that i could set up for rainy day urbans and such, because i do like the idea itself of riding in the rain very much... i just don't like the aftermath --- like cleaning and drying or taking an early bath...

Clean up doesn't have to be a bad thing - it's all in the attitude.
I stand out in my driveway and use the hose to spray off the mud from my bike, and my clothes. Many times, my neighbours have seen me standing in the rain, covered in mud and hosing myself off.
They think I'd crazy. And that pleases me.

Yeah, rain is murder on your bike if you don't maintain it afterwards. For the record, I ride to school rain or shine everyday.
All I wear are my old waterproof construction overalls and they keep me dry for my 15minute commute. :o

yea, cause i don't usually ride in the rain, for reasons such as what trev said.
But i will ride if it starts raining in the middle of the ride like what somebody else stated back there.

Rain kills my need to ride 99%. When it's wet and ugly out i just don't feel like riding. Depressing it is.
riding in the rain hones the skillz. we live on the west coast. if you don't like rain, youre going to be indoors a lot.

Rine or shine when I can dress for it. I usually don't get on the road bike if it's raining. DH and XC only. Rain is bad on equipment, but maintenance is better.

yea, here in winnipeg i wont start if its raining. if it rains while iam out, ill still ride but call it quits earlier. Here in winnipeg, its all about the hot, sunny days to chill out at the dip, or dig some jumps by the tracks.
anyways, when i move to van, i guess ill have to get used to riding in the rain. i wont like it, but itll just be another change.

I love riding in the rain. The mud makes it feel like youre going so much faster. The one problem is V brakes suck.

I try to get out after it rains, if it has dried up a touch. I can't really deal with riding in cold and wet conditions, but I don't mind getting out after a rain. Or I jsut go for a road ride.
But I do enjoy riding CBC in the wet, it's a blast, adds a whole new dimention to the trail ya know?
P.S. Hi Shane.

I rode today in the rain. Went from the house up to Ladies solo and it was a great ride. I find the rain almost makes a ride more fun.

Rain, cold, darkness, snow - gotta ride it all. It's fun. Plus, if you notice the rain, then you're not riding hard enough.
I use Seal Skinz socks if it's really wet. And waterproof pants/jacket too ($50 at Costco), but only use it if it's wet and very cold.

actually, i like riding in the rain, unless it's a torrential downpour - it really depends on what you're wearing. a hoody and jeans REALLY soaks up the wet :(
there's just something about riding through huge puddles and ending up with that nice wet mushy feeling up your ass...

 Judy, you need a good rear fender.
Get some jogging tights. They are very thin, very warm, and retain very little water. Also save your legs from scrapes.

I HAD one, and a front one too - snapped the rear fender 5 minutes into a ride (doesn't work when you bail off the back of the bike :P ) and the front one drove me nuts - too noisy.
I just need water repellant pants! i'm trying to design something.
