I don't think there are too many people here that go there, but I thought I'd mention that Snoqualmie Pass will not be having mountain biking this summer. They say it's because not enough people go there and increased insurance prices (link) (http://mid.summit.boothcreek.com/winter/press/?id=2203).

Meh, it sucked anyway

Actually, I'm going to miss the local lifts. They just needed to put more money into it. They could have done something really cool with it.

Oh well

That sucks, even though its nothing compared to Whistler I've had some good time on that mountain.

Maybe you should have put some work into the mountain if you think it sucked so bad:flame:

I will miss the rugged mountain and the awesome trails that is has... It was nice having lift accessed riding only an hour from Seattle

If you pay money to ride somewhere, I don't think you should hafta perform trail maintainence.

I don't either but most of the trails had been built by riders wanting to keep the sport alive at the mountain. If i there were more people helping and at least giving ideas to the mountain to show support it might have been a better place to ride for all skill levels and abilities.....

Its 50 miles east of Seattle. It hosted a 1998 Worldcup Venue which was considered to be one of the toughest coarses on the circuit. It was also home to the CPR race series last year and was the site for more races this year until this announcement last week....

my take:
the times i have went there, the trails were poorly marked and maintained. it was fun, but it seemed like summit management simply opened it up for biking without putting any real effort into making it a nice place for mountain biking. which was fine, but not really condusive to a big turnout. i have only been twice, so tell me if i am wrong..

You pretty much hit it on the head, I guess the management really didn't put up enough effort to make it profitable. I am just sad to see it gone......

We have known about it for some time. I'll miss it, but like most hvae said, it wasn't anything that great about it. I hope to catch many more rides up to whsitler.

I've probably put in close to ten hours of trail maintenence over the summer at snoqualmie. Grey VPS Shore? Yeah, that was me. It wasn't by choice, rather it was just things that needed to be done. I went up there tons this past season and I'm going to miss having lift riding close, too. But shit, don't get all pissed at me. I was just expressing it wasn't worth the $15 it cost. I also don't think I(or anyone who isnt getting paid) should have to maintain that mountain or any resort. It's a place of business...not a bro trail.

Besides, there are way better trails about 20 minutes from there...sure you gotta ride up, but for fat people like me, thats a good thing :)

I am glad that more people than just the ones I know put time into it to try to make it happen. I agree that they needed to step up to the plate and make it happen. Things don't happen on their own, you have work hard and make them happen. I guess the management at Snoqualamie never heard that.....
