Easiest way to travel from Vancouver to Whistler by public transport

I'm gonna be heading up on Friday - hopefully early so I can get riding for the day. Haven't been up before, and I'm not driving. Currently looking at greyhound buses, but I have to have the bike packed up according to their website, so that's a bit of a pain. Anyone know any better ways?

dont need to pack up your bike if you take it from coquitlam.

Don't have to box it from the downtown depot. Have to pay $10 bucks each way though. There are heaps of busses every day.
