OK, If it was always scheduled that way,Does anyone know why they would run the Dh on Saturday. I guess its for the same reason they ran Nationals mid week.

I thought it would be on Sat. if the holiday was Friday.
so it makes no sense to me. It gives the people that don't work monday to friday the advantage. but I planned ahead and booked friday off.

Hopefully it isn't disgustingly wet and ugly. It would be nice to catch some of the action with my camera without the risk of water damage.
oh..yeah, plus a few other reasons why it would be better.

Good thing I had planned to have a relaxing day getting there Friday, train on Saturday and race Sunday. I guess it is now the early ferry Friday to get there and practice what I can to race on Saturday. Good thing it wasn't a mid week again otherwise I'd skip it like last year. Although I guess I would have to try and make the race this year no matter what otherwise I would never hear the end of it from Tim, Bryon, Wayne etc.
The one bonus is that there will be a big party on Saturday night.

Denise and I are heading over Thursday night. We might have extra seats if someone doesn't want to take their own car over. We will be coming back on Monday.

Obviously the interest on the boards reflects the interest among racers.
The Best Track of the year by far. the love child of Sun Peaks and Arduum. High speed Technical, rough, muddy, multiple line choices. A real DH track. Weather almost held off. No rain on Friday. Saturday was cold and windy, the rain only started halfway through the race.
But Unfortunately the Dh race was scheduled on Saturday. An Island race on Labor day long weekend = Ferry nightmare, and dedicated racers would have to take the Friday off as well. so in turn a small turnout of only 120 - 130 racers. And the late 1:30 race start makes me think that they were trying to bring in more money to the bar and accomidations.
Congrats to all the winners. I had alot of fun at this race practicing and hanging out with friends. Too bad Mt. washington has my number and I had a horrible race run. I lost the overall because of this. Jeff Hunter and I were tied in points but this race was the tie breaker. I'll get my revenge one of these days.
Jeff 115 140 175 200
Darryl 140 175 175 140 130 130
4 race cup format, take away my 2 5th place finishes and we are tied. Finals are tie breaker Jeff won, I crapped the bed.
I guess John and I are in the same boat..... First loser.
Once again Senior mens winner would have taken the Elite win. and you guys are calling me a Sandbagger.

So old man won it? Johnie, what the hell man? Who won the overall?
Cory, think of the Masters class as the "old pro" class. Makes it easier to adjust to stepping down. lol

Bryon took The overall. My biggest competitor has always been myself.I tried a new line on my last practice run and ended up breaking my middle finger and dislocating my thumb. Bryon was having trouble with the course but managed to put a run together that was good enough for the win.The win was there for me to take and i folded.Enns played it safe all weekend and it worked for him.
Congratulations Bryon It was a fun season. I Hope Cory comes out more next year,I kinda miss him at the races.

Anyone know where to find results? The cycling BC site is a bit confusing.

Who was the Senior Man that beat Steve Chan's time? I thought Steve set the quickest time of the day followed by Simon Garstin and Dean Tennant.

Senior men started right before Juniors and elite. It was cold and raining sideways when we started. don't pull the weather card, it just sounds like an excuse.

Hard to say if the track was any faster or slower for the Elites. I do know one thing though ... those Juniors were one heck of a lot cleaner at the finish than the Elites.

I enjoyed having Cory at the race. Just listening to him a John blab at the start gate almost got me over my nerves I was laughing so hard.
If your racing next year Cory I'll make sure to have John with me when we go to check out sneaky lines, so John takes the brunt of your punishment.

it would be cool if the times weren't cut off!
Sounds like a fun weekend, I can't believe John broke his finger so he'd have an excuse....more convincing that just pulling into the bush and letting air out of the tires though.
I watched the weather reports and had a giggle on Saturday from sunny Sunpeaks :D

After all the trash talk I threw out there before Mt Washington I wish I could say I killed it at the finals to take the win. Every practice run was a disaster and the race run was the worst of the season but I was lucky it held up for the win.
Tim beat me by 17 seconds :damn: but after beating him by a minute and a half the last time we were both there I think I still have advanage by over a minute! :woot:

Well maybe its an excuse but i think your satement is incorrect in the first place, because Steve Chan got a 3:42 and you category winner was a 3:58 unless I am mistaken

Sorry, I guess the only sheet I saw was the preliminary times. I see some times are different from the last results I saw.

Wayne, Bryon did it again. All weekend he was a menace on the course and I was all over him, not as bad a Gord though. Somehow he managed to sort himself out and win it. Don't know how. Good thing we weren't racing together because he would have beat me. This was the second race of the year that I caught someone on course which makes things kind of interesting. After passing him I tried to get back up to speed but overcooked a section and almost hit a guy with a camera and I layed myself out on the rocks. Nice!
It was a super fun weekend except that Tim, Bryon and myself were a little out of it on Sunday morning. I can't believe we drank that much. It was fun making complete asses of ourselves at the bar with a few others. Just curious if the girl we were drinking with found her single guy.
