I did woodlot in Sports sandals once. Makes you really aware of how exposed your feet are, and that makes you ride really well.

I remember a few years back at whistler there was this jackass guy sitting on the GLC patio heckling everyone that didnt do the big glc drop. Finally some chick gave him crap and challenged him to it on her bike. So now everyone is yelling at him and he actaully tried to do it in flip flops. He went so slow that he basically tried to roll the drop and ate it hard. His one foot had a serious cut in it due to the flip flops... he didnt have anything else to say after that.

last year? flipflop dude was super drunk and when he hit the ground, one of his flipflops flew off his foot and the cloud of dust was massive? I saw that and couldn't help but laugh my ass off. Wished I had a camera to record that chunk of GLC Patio history.

buddy rolled out of it, but the flailing on the bike made him cut his foot up pretty bad.
it was a pretty funny scene, the guy was heckling everyone....until this girl came up, gave him her bike and told him to giver....i guess he couldn't say no to a girl....no helmet, flip flops and a big ego. he did get cheers though.

There used to be a crash every ten minutes or so off that drop. These days the crash, the dustcloud and a drunken cheer is a rare thing indeed.
