This guy went down hard today. 3'd the giro trailer, over rotated, looked like his leg got snagged up in his frame and well, it broke. As soon as he stopped sliding he started yelling, "I broke my leg!" From the looks of things a pretty bad tibia/fibula break. I will post pictures when I am home in 3 days. Oh and the worst part about this, they medics had to cut his white jeans! But for serious hope you are feeling better soon.
Beers.

We were on our way out of the Clinic as they were wheeling him in. He was pulling oxygen off the tank and his leg was in a massive splint.
Hope it's not too bad. Heal up.

Heal up quick Wyper! I was the first one to him. He knew right away his leg was broken. Such a sick feeling when you hear that.

naw, he was fine on that, he also had his gnarly super flip bail the day before on the jump before the spine to road gap, but he got up just fine.

I saw you on the big screen,
Your face was like "Oh fuck what do I do?" lol.
It was a bummer that drop was stupid to trick cause the stepdown into it gave you WAY to much speed.

 Yeah. I just tried to keep him still so he didn't fuck anything else up. It took like a minute for medics to get there, but they did a good job on him. I seem to have a knack at being there when bad things happen:(.

Heres an up date: I talked to him today on the phone and he was out of it just woke up from surgery, which went well, he has a compound fractures, both tibia and fibia about 4 inches above the ankle. they put one spike through the shin bone, I cant remember which is which, to support it, the other bone was left set since it will heal on its own. He staying at lions gate hospital until Tuesday so they can watch for an infection. One of the 2 bones pierced through his skin and right through his shin pad.... bad scene. Early guesses are 6 months, lots of wheel :hurt: time for him.

That's what these competitions are all about. You need to pull off gnar tricks to win. Unfortunately, they don't always go smoothly and things like this happen. Sure, it seems that it's not worth it, but if he landed it, threw together a huge run and made it on the podium, nobody would be saying it's dumb.

You get medical compo? The strip clubs can cash your cheque.
A few years back, I borked my lower leg in 6 spots falling off my bikey. Couple days later, a dumbass friend was drunk and drove his motorbike into a truck, breaking his opposite leg.
We were both on crutches for the summer, drunk as fook at either the rippers, or the beach.
Do exactly what the physio tells you to do. I did, and am 100%. Friend didn't, and now he walks like a chicken.

I can attest to that, I broke my tibia/ankle, and tried way to early, so I had a bit of a duck foot for like 6 months.

ok boys and girls here is an update for you guys. i got home wendsday afternoon. as most of ou saw or heard i got a nice tib, fib brake about 6 inches from my ankle from spinning the giro trailer. it was a perfect rotation but from overshooting and landing flat i had just exploded off the landing. thankfully the guys on the mountain where awesome and cleaned me up fairly quickly. once i got off the mountain and into thw whistler clinic the disitions was mad that i would go to lions gate that night for surgery to reconstruct my leg early monday morning i want into surgery where i got a 16" steal rod inserted into my fib with screws. wile i was in the hospital the support was great, when i turned my phone on i had over 60 text messeges, my voicemail was full, and i had a steady line of people walking through saying there hellos and giving there best. i just want to say thank you to every one who did stop in it made m stay so much better and it was so very appreciated. now that i am home i am on some wicked pain killers, and just chillin watching the olympics. i have about 3-4 months until i can use my leg says the doc and 5-6 untill i will be good to get back on the bike. and i already can not wait.

Glad you are feeling good. While I was in LGH (coumpound Ulna fracture) they treated me well. And the nurses were hot too :). Those 5 months will fly by and your desire to ride will be super-high by the time you are ready. Could be an epic comeback ;)
