Thanks to the NSMBA! I rode Bridal Path yesterday with Kimbo Steed and old man Enns and was blown away by the work done on this old classic. I used to ride this trail fairly often when I lived in NV and it was always a chore to not dab because of how beat it was. But now I could hammer on my little hardtail at double the speed.
I'm sore - 3 shore mountains in 3 days. Bryon and I rode up to teh Big Eye on Friday.... I mean, nevermind. Then on Saturday in the rain, we rode 7th to Dream Weaver. My Larson TT's didn't fair so well on the roots. Then on Sunday it was up to Severed Cock via the Bridal Path. Kim and Bryon were flying and I was struggling to keep the pace. All good though.

Good times. Poaching the good stuff - how was your ride up to Big Eye? That's a tough climb to clean.

Sharon, I'm sooooo happy to be in Kamloops. That trip was fun but it reconfirmed the reasons why I moved. I miss my dirtbag friends but the housing prices, the traffic, the rain - no thanks.
Sammy, I struggled on the rough, rocky, loose climbs with my bike. A hardtail is kinda fun here but there its the worst kind of bike to have, in my opinion.
P.S. Kim and Lani Steed are the nicest people in existence.

Larsens aren't much fun going up the climb to BE either... and I don't think I would want one as a front for the way down, that could have gotten a bit sketchy!
Sounds like you were riding some nice lines, I need to do more of that kind of run.

The Larsons are fine in teh loamy goodness, but most tires are. They did better than I thought, but the bald roots didn't help. Oh yea, I was also running about 50psi too. ;)

You inspired me to take the ti hardtail out- I rode from the Holiday Inn to Lower Oilcan on it. Upside - climbing is so fast on the bike. Up to LOC in just over 1 hour. Downside - descending is so rough on it. Even LOC which is a pretty smooth trail rattles the fillings/.

I want one of those fancy Blur LT2's that Kimbo Slice was riding. 5.5" of travel and maybe a pound heavier than my hard tail. WTF? Somebody wanna donate to the -get Wayne a new frame fund-?

Is this why Old Man Enns nancied out and didn't come race the Garbanzo DH?

 He said he was, but the fact that he couldn't drop a has been who never was father of 4 who doesn't ride much... probably was proof that he's now pretty slow. He tried to nancy out on one of our rides because of some light rain. I think his legs are hurtin'.
That and you now are intimidating him with your speed Timmay.

I took my HT out a couple weeks back thinking I'd rip it up on 24lbs of xc racing machine. After lots of spinning out while climbing and a couple of bone jarring descents, the bike has been reconverted into a camping bike. But it is pretty sweet for riding to pick up more water or some firewood.
Anything else and I'm taking out the short travel fully. Better traction on the climbs, faster on the descents, and way easier on the body.

I don't think it's possible to make a 29er frame small enough for Lee.
By the way, WTF is this Metrosexual clothing?

Awesome I'm glad you managed to dish him some hurt if I couldn't. I hope he decides to man up and come out to the Canadian Open race this week-end.
