During a pre-ride a few weeks back when conditions were dry one guy hiked up Rock n Roll and the rest of us rode Muzak. The last/slowest rider still beat the walker by a minute or so.

I'd say muzak but am thinking if it clogs up with riders, it may be slower.

True, although last year I had to queue up and wait in line just to carry my bike up Rock n Roll.

Is the "Muzak" route an easy to see option? I have't seen the course since last years race but this sounds like the way to go. Hike-a-bike kills me and I am already gonna need all the help I can get.

What would you say kills you more; an off camber corners or a hike-a-bike?

Muzak is faster, but like it was said above, if you have some gas in the tank and Muzak is looking clustered, run up Rock n Roll if that route is looking clear. And Muzak is very easy to spot, its a machine made trail, you cant miss it.

turns out to be equal in about 100th place
likely faster for the first Elite to arrive, to ride Muzak since no one in the way
likely faster to walk Rock N Roll further back in pack since riders/walkers on Muzak would be jamming it up

I was around 300th and Muzak seemed way faster. The pace was pure granny ring but that was good for me. :)

Ride around was my route.

But alas...my legs became knots not too long after that and it was several more hours until I crossed the line.

CRAMPS SUCK!!!

Great weather, outstanding course and incredible volunteers!!!!
