Shiiit! I can't make it this week. Gotta go to Kelowna tonight to beat the Saturday traffic. But I started a thread for you guys anyway, 'cause I'm petitioning to get the name changed to Friday Night Street! Urban is lame unless you're all on DH bikes and do nothing but stairgaps. Even the trials riders are riding street trials, so street's the word!
Have a shitty time without me! Nah, just have a little less fun. See you guys next friday if not sooner!

What?!?!

I see trials on your avatar. You = Trials rider? Me too!!!

It's definitely a downer that you''re not going to be there. I was hoping I could meet more riders and ride more frequently.

That pic's an abubaca (street, not trials) on my Chase, but I will be a trials rider soon! Couple more paychecks and I'm gettin' me a used stock (fingers crossed I can find a Zoo Pitbull)! What do you ride? Weren't you on one of the last few rides too?

Hey Alex, I'm not sure if we've met, but I ride an old zoo boa.

I'm actually trying to sell it because I feel that I've outgrown it. I'm parting it out, and I'm even considering just selling the entire bike. Let me know if you're interested and we could work out a price deal as I've been having a lot of problems getting rid of these parts while avoiding shipping.

they're not the most decked out parts, but I thought I'd try anyways.

Hahah, I should've said "I see swedish lingerie supermodel on your avatar. You = swedish lingerie supermodel rider? Me too!!!"
Anyway, your bike looks like a blast to ride, but it also looks pretty roached out and well matured. That looks like the kind of bike that would be worth far more to it's rider than it would on the market, you know? Priceless except for sentimental value. A buyer's market for sure. It's not quite what I'm looking for (I'm looking for a more newschool long frame, with HS33s and a single speed), but that bike would be a dream come true for a young beginner! I'll let you know if I run across anyone who might be interested, 'cause that bike's a nugget for what it's worth! A lot of bang for the buck!

I missed the ride as well. My boy got back from camp on Friday afternoon and my bikes at Atomic cycle for a well needed adjustmentation. I will be out next weekend for sure.

I meet up with another guy from the board... and we found a aussie straggler hanging around the art gallery on a specialized hardtail.

Rode until around 11. then the 3 of us met up this morning again. hit seymour, then the dirt jumps @ interriver!

~ 10 hours of riding in the past 2 days... the season is starting nicely :)

Hopefully more people will show up this week.

There usually 4 or 5 riders each friday for the past couple of months. It will get busier when summer hits, come out when you can. Theres not always a thread for the event.

I can see the group obviously fell apart without my babysitting. Hahah, but that's good that most people couldn't make it on the same day, and even the riders who made it seem to have hit the jackpot! Win win win!

Your babysitting. Haha!

I was the only thing keeping this ride alive for years before paul came along...
.

Anyhow, It's not looking too hopeful for me this week. A couple people got fired today... and I'll be holding the fort it seems.

I'm there (of course!) for the 23rd. Hopefully I won't get shipped across the province just as I'm putting on my helmet this time! Oh, and Mike on the Team DH is back, so he's on board this time too. What's his screen name on here?

ah shite, i'm building up my new trials bike right now.

Get ready for it Alex - 08 Zoo Pitbull with HS33 on grinded drilled rear wheels coming right up!

I expect to see a lot of wtf looks on the skytrain next friday!

Oh yeah! Hey Wack.

Hahah you better keep an eye on that thing, I might just run off and start a new life with it! I like the '05/6s though, I have to say that CNCed boomerang shaped plate bracing the seatstays and the little "seattube" looks so nice. Shame there's no built in booster though (...is there?). You can't run discs, so I don't see why there shouldn't be one.
PS. Drilled I get, but what do you mean by grinded?

bokinator
05-23-2008, 03:26 AM
there is a an integrated brake booster on the frame, which is nice. I'm still waiting for brake mounts and pads from hbtrials.com

seatless and pig moaning brake noise is pretty standard in trials :)

grinded as in grinding the rear rims to give it a rougher surface, therefore, allowing more surface area for the brakes to grab, giving it better braking performance, but crapping out on the rims easier :)

Have a good time y'all. I'd be in normally but I have to get supplies for a get together on Saturday down at English Bay. Baci!!!

Bokinator, ooh, I just shivered. Brr, my bikes crap out too easily as is, I couldn't stomach taking a grinder to them!
Trini-dad72, in for next week then? I've never met you, so that'd be good!

Nah, he's mostly just told us not to forget to bring a towel. Whenever he gets high for inspiration he always ends up making things worse. Learn from Towelie!

A towel is the most useful thing one can carry. Read it. (don't see the movie) Author is Douglas Adams.
I should be in tonight, good to see your healthy Meth.
I just hope my chain stays on, had some issues at whistler.

I should be there. Was thinking of going early and joining the Critical mass "Pirate Ride" and theres a party afterward at PEDAL and FREEGEEK which happen to be next door to my work space. If Tian is around get him to come along I could show him the replacement frames I got him since his bike got stole.

From practical experience I'd say Socks are the best thing to carry .

Waaay ahead of you. He's not coming, as usual. I forget what his excuse was this time. Has to give his mom a footrub or something. I don't know, we might be wasting our time trying to help him out, he always changes the subject when I bring up the replacement bike and he'll never get off his own ass. Is it too late to just put all the old spare parts back away and leave the frames at the shop or wherever they're from? Luckily the money I've collected is all still theoretical, I wouldn't have collected it until we had to use it. So what do you say, abort?

Nah! he's still in mourning. When the sun is sunny and he's bored he'll figure it out. I'll just keep the frames on a shelve and when he's ready I'll mock him for taking so long, lol.

Critical mass is a Pirate ride again ( yawn ). I'm not sure I want to go to such a stereo typed event. I mean dammit us real Pirates get kinda tired of hearing Yarrrrr! at every corner. My damn Parrot is so freakin fat from crackers its disgusting. I mean crackers arent real food and with all that salt his little arteries must be rock by now. How would they feel if I went around without me mug and not swaggering. Make them uncomfortable I says.

Cya at the Gallery.

Hahaha I like your style. But I don't know if you knew this, but he's leaving for the QCs for 3 months of fishing in less than a week now. He'll probably be back early September, for school, but when the sun is sunny and he's bored he won't be around to figure it out! Plus he's got his BMX, and I think he was planning on getting another bike if he made enough spare money this season anyway, so I don't know. Your call.

damn it, I gotta stop being so lazy and bust my ass out to make it to these rides!

My parts finally arrived, and hopefully I'll have my bike built up by today!

and hopefully the weather will stop being so lame.
