So does this mean I am going to have to sign more waivers at the ski hill now?

Only if you plan to re-enact the bumbling student scene from just about very ski movie.

What ever happened with the case where the kid broke his back going off a booter in the park on Blackcomb during a school ski day?

I remember they sued WB, never heard the outcome... this happened about 4 years ago.

^well I know my school wasnt allowed to go on ski trips as a result of that.

SOme guy in Washington State was awarded somewhere in the neighborhood of 27 million for going off a jump and becoming paralysed. Appearantly the courts ruled that the jump wasnt designed and tested by engineers, and that 3 people had been injured on that jump throughout the season. Total weak sauce IMO.

Maybe in BC a law should be made much like Colorado has where you cant sue a ski resort due to injuries(not sure of the exact law, but that seems to be the just of it) as the purchase of lift ticket is an actual waiver

This family is prime material for self deselection from the breeding pool.

WB settled out of court. The details of that are confidential.

He also sued the school district (richmond) and a few teachers who were "chaperoning" the students. He got some money, but was also found to be something like 50% responsible for his own actions (not sure of the exact details).

What a bunch of BS, if I was driving hammered can I say that the alcohol was 50% responsible for me running over a person? People need to be forced to take 100% responsibility for themselves again, like they used too when the world was not run by bleeding hearts and lawyers....

he is the reason you need a seperate waiver and pass to use the park now

feel sorry for the kid

not enough in that article to make any kind of an opinion other than that

that being said, quebec has a different justice system than us which may have contributed to the ruling
