you're way better off keeping the banter going instead of stickies.
a stuck thread is a dead thread.
So - who rides the watershed? Trail day this Sunday! Post up and be heard!

dont forget to set your clocks back
Great work everyone! We had a great turnout and alot of key work was done to buff the trails up for the winter.
For the three guys from Surrey (Garret and co.) that were working with Geoff and I on the connector trail, thanks, for your help and I'm sorry you guys missed out on the bbq. We went back up to do about another 1/2 hr of work and then headed to the meadow.

 I just wanted to thank all the sbc volunteers and new members who came out for this trail day. A big thank you to Krusty's Caps cycle for the BBQ at the end of the day. I am sorry that I didn't make it ( A big props to my work sched ) and I wished I could have been there but I did show up at the end with some refreshments. 30 people approx came out and a lot of good work was completed but still more needs to be done. We have come up with a plan to rebuild a stunt on the goats trail. It should be a beauty. Thank again to all those that came out.

is there a website with a map for the watershed ? I know where almost all the trails are, but have no clue on the names.
I've never actually seen a watershed map other than the maps at the actual park. It's a relaitvely small area though, surrounded by major roads and subdivision.
You should head out there and just explore.
There are some royal finds in both the southwest, and the northeast areas of the park.
tool, I think it was you that I was talking to at the shed later sunday afternoon. Nice work on the Goats, they flow really well. Not to mention the changes made to the singletrack make for a fun ride.
Well done guys.

hypa, sorry i missed meeting ya on sunday. we should plan a ride soon in there. FYI.......the sbc boys have been meeting tuesday nights at 7pm for a night rides. get some lights. lots of fun.
I just recieved my HID and took it out for a ride the other day.
Wow, simply amazing. I no longer outrun my lights on a good night ride. Problem is, I can't ride tuesday nights, as the wife has school.
:(
I was actually thinking of hitting the shed tonight, around 7'ish for a few top to bottom runs.....

Last nights ride was great.
The new Goat's changes make it a nice line in the dark.
The only problem is, it's freaking creepy in there at night.....
yup i agree.....parks at night creep me out. oh man they haunt me to the point i never want to be in a park alone at night
ions ago when i started riding a mountain bike my friends and i would ride central park in burnaby since it was close. we would find these rough overgrown single tracks through the bushes and we would ride what we could and bush whack through the rest. this one time we were riding and it was getting dark but we decided to do one more run. halfway through i got stuck and had to push bike. as soon as i got off my bike the corner of my eye caught some movement....
ok this is going to be rough. so take a deep breath....but i saw..........
two neked guys..... they had their heads turned and were trying to be still and not move hoping we would not see them. OMG i almost left my bike behind but i never ran so fast in my life.
i got nothing against anyone's lifestyle but man to a 13 year old boy that could do some serious damage dammit.
so there's my story as to why you'll never catch me in the park at night.

:r:
I was more worried about being murdered in the forest while rabid coyotes eat my dead flesh, but you've added a whole other fear to the game.
Ive seen some pretty weird dudes in the shed at night.
My buddy stumbled across a gay couple in the shed at night, many moons ago. They were just leaving, I guess he missed the show by a few minuites.
Apparently they hang out near the gravity bowl, overlooking the lower gravel trail. I've also found condoms and a pair of underwear at the end of the old "got skills" trail.
nasty isht.

did the underwear atleast fit?
hehe, you know, he wouldn't even touch it with a stick.
I kept trying to get him to clear it off the trail. He's like "fuk that noise".
I finally flung it off the trail, along with the condoms, but didn't waste any time chasing him around with rank ginch on the end of a stick.
i wish peeps would clean up after themselves.
i don't even want to get into it but i work around commercial and hastings here in vancouver and man the crap i see and walk around is disgusting. :flame:

Straight boring types probably have sex in the bushes too. Although they probably do it missionary style and bring a blanket along.
