Anyone tried one of these contraptions out?
Looks like it might be a handy little doohicky for travelling (non-action shooting).

How much does it cost? (Usually reflects how well it works)

60 bucks for the one that can support a DSLR zoom - they suggest that it can support 6.6 lbs.
I do tend to agree with the you get what you pay for attitude, which is why I'm somewhat skeptical of this thing. But I'm thinking specifically of when travelling, being able to set up timer shots it may be convenient (due to size)

the legs wrap around stuff as well.
I thought about one of these
I think I might go the step further and get a magic arm setup as I just built a remote cable so i can trigger my camera with my packet wizards...
these look cool though
weight of my 1dmkII with 70-200IS is about 6.5-7 lbs
just for reference.

It was the 'leg wrapping' aspect of it that is attractive (and the small size/weight). Not sure what a magic arm is...
N00B question - You can use pocket wizards to trigger the camera? I thought it was just for flash slave triggering. That raises the value prop on that for me - was thinking it would be fun to set the 20D with a wide angle up in a corner for a BBQ and snap away. Wouldn't exactly be art house shit - but might catch some candid moments.
Loving the 20D btw - cheers!

hmm do you think if you bumped one of the legs on it it would fold or collapse?

Well I figured it's a pretty cheap experiment so I picked one up along. Will let you know if it sucks or not when it shows up (thank you vistek.ca)....
