Looks like a Trance X to me. I was though there was no Reign for 08 just Reign X's The part spec are trance-ish to me. Why no DHX or ride dh cranks or fox 36? Why

what does it weigh?

Well the reason for no RF Ride cranks or 36 is cause thats on the Reign X series would be pointless to do it on both, this is more all-mountain riding rather then freeride-ish like the Reign X.

it weighs a sweet 29.5lbs I can't wait for those long 30 mile rides yippy, seven summits in october is gona be sweet.

I'm not into hucking and just downhilling anymore I feel way more accomplished riding up a mountain then being able to hit all the stuff heading back down

You sell the Reign X? I saw you had the nomad for sale...

Actually the Reign X was my friend's he was staying with me, I did sell the nomad for this bike.

so I finally got to ride it tonight here is what I thought

the bike was super snappy and light (cause it is) going up hills, I climbed my local trail about 5 min faster then I had previously, smooth cornering, very fluid suspension front and back, easy to dial, I hit up a couple of the usual jumps and drops just to see how it felt and wow I was super happy with the feel, bottomless and again solid. It did feel abit stretched out which is what I was expecting and somewhat wanting but after an hour I was rallying the berms and hitting all the stuff I used to hit on my nomad. The bike rolls very fast and the new Hayes Stroker brakes held it all together.

Great job Giant, affordable, solid, smooth, and damn sexy

ok off to bed so I can dream about my next ride

It's been a few months and I'm curious how the new Reign is doing? I went to the local LBS a few days ago and pedaled the Trance X around. It was super nice, but I'm having a tough time deciding if the trance X or Reign will be the better bike for me. I'm like you. I want to go up and down so a do it all bike is what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance...

Oh man I'm lovin this bike I've used it on a couple epic rides that had long climbs and rough downhill sections. I also took it up to Sun Peaks and hit the bike park and it did great, I'm not a massive hucker or crazy trick guy but for most of the small - med drops and jumps and Gaps it was great.

I highly recommend the Reign if you are gona hit any semi-freeride type trails, I have hit a couple things that made me glad I went with the 6".

I feel out of all the suspension types I've riden (VPS, VPP, 4-Bar) this is the most active and smooth suspension on all types of conditions. and the climbing is superb, stuff I couldn't make up on my Nomad this thing just flys up with no problem.

going an inch less I don't see the point this thing weighs 29.5lbs and you don't have to worry about not having that extra inch for hitting some sweet gap you been eyeing.

let me know if you have any more questions about it
here is a new pic too

man I love it... I want the Glory Giant too just for fun hahaha
