I snapped my xo yesterday but not in the conventional way. Where the cage attatches to the other portion, that stud has snapped. Im wondering if that stud is threaded. It looks like its threaded into the other portion (not the cage), but the cage itself looks solid ? I think i can make something work, but im not too too sure.
Also, is there an exploded diagram of an xo ? The sram site doesn't seem to have one, i really need to know if that piece is threaded into the cage or not. I doubt it is.

If you can't find parts, let me know I'll give you a few bucks for your dead X.0 so I have some spare bits and pieces.

Just got back inside, it looks like im going to need a new cage and the carbon part that says "xo." Theres just a stud snapped off, problably a 10 cent piece, but they made it so you cant get it out, for no apparant reason. Fack. Dave, how much would you give me for it
Any decent grease monkey should be able to remove it with the proper tool.

I have had 2 XOs now, once that happens its a cost to replace the cage, but other then that it should be under warrenty, bring it into a shop and see what they can do....

If the stud you are referring to the the one in the cage that stops the cage from rotating too far, then yes, it is threaded. Thats how you get the cage off
I've pulled off the cage of my XO. It was super easy, and I didn't need any special tools. The trick is to spin the cage till you can get at the little screw that holds it from rotating too far. then rotate it back, and it will pop right off. Remember the position of the spring when you take it apart.

some of them don't have the c-clips that the original ones had. like the new X9s everything is riveted.

This one has c clips. Im not going to spend $105 on a cage for a 2 year old derailleur though when i can get a better one new for 65 (x9). I think the new x9 is problably better then the old x0 rite ?

Freak I have the same year X.0 as yours (off same bike as well) and mine runs fine. The new X9 isn't as good but any new derailer works better than yours from the sound of it.
