So I recently purchased a used Sunday, and there is movement in the Pivot were the DW link attaches to the swing arm, today I bought new bearings and replaced them, but it made virtually no difference. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? if so how did you solve it? Im hoping this doesnt mean i need a new DW Linkage plate but i kinda think thats what is entailed. Let me know, plus anything else about the Sunday linkage, longevity and issues. Loving the bike by the way, superfast.
What year frame is & what sort of movement is it?
Anything up to & including the '06 model sufferered problems around the top shock bolt, when you lifted the back of the bike up, you feel it drop ever so slightly. Iron Horse actualy did a replacement 'big bolt kit' to cure this.
I bought a barely used Sunday Factory which suffered the same & traced it back to this common problem. Mailed IH USA & they sent me out a replacement kit for free & cured all the problems.
Check its not coming from the same point, because the DW link will move even if the above problem is evident. It does sounds the same problem as most have suffered.
Glad you get on with it - it's definately a marmite bike, I couldn't get on with mine.

My frame is a 2006, and I beleive it already has a new larger upper bolt, I cant feel any movement in the upper bolt connection, just the rear DW pivot, I have purchased new bearing for this but it didnt help. Anyone else have any ideas? could it be the axel? Thanks

This is a common problem with 06 and older Sundays. Call your local Sunday dealer and they can order the pivot bearing replacement kit for you that will make it stiffer and upgrade it to what the 07's are running now. I think its around $250 but don't quote me on that.
